I have spent there just one week but it was boiling hot one… It is one big desert with some occasional oasis only. I was really surprised when in the middle of a desert had found small river with small lakes !!!

This film was so popular, that had to be played twice.

Just before the movie there was a meeting with actress Danuta Stenka, who played wife of a general. After the film actress read a letter from the director Andrzej Wajda, and later on there was an exiting discussion about it.

The atmosphere was really hot. There were Irish people, who during the discussion were convincing to let go the past and think about our future.

On “Reek Sunday”, the last Sunday in July every year, over 25 thousand pilgrims climb this mountain, many of whom even climb barefoot. The mountain was created by a glacier flowing into Clew Bay in the last Ice Age.

Croagh Patrick derives its name from the Irish Cruach Phádraig (“Saint Patrick’s mountain”). Locally is known as the Reek. In the Annals of Ulster entry for the year 1113, the mountain is named Cruachán Aigle (“eagle mountain”).
